International Star leases the Van Deemen Mine claims and areas surrounding the Van Deemen Mine in the northern Black Mountains in Mohave County, Arizona. The Van Deemen area represents an advanced project supported by historical data indicating a substantial gold resource.
The Van Deemen Mine property consists of five unpatented lode mining claims totaling approximately 100 acres acquired through a lease agreement with La Cuesta International, Inc. in April 2011. The Company has also located 48 unpatented lode claims in the area surrounding the Van Deemen Mine, which have been staked and recorded with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and the Mohave County Recorder.
The Company has recovered much of the data regarding historic exploration work on the Van Deemen Mine property and recently recovered over 1,000 original pulp samples. A check of the historic resource by Company Management (Carroll & Metzler) shows good agreement of the reported 34,000 ounces of near surface gold with grades ranging from 1-3 grams per ton. The reported mineralization is contained in three small open pits and is reported to occur in low angle faults with associated quartz-sericite-hematite-pyrite-clay alteration.
The Company will be taking the necessary steps to put the mine in production in the near term. These steps include “re-assaying” selected pulps, performing a preliminary economic assessment, as well as working with all the governmental agencies to begin the permitting process.
